Still Flickr ing
Well back into Flickr to see if I could find any other LCLS PTL photos. I now can see 3 from Carrie and 10 from Kathleen. Mine are not showing on the "everyone's" search. I have added Carrie and Kathleen to my contacts. I used photos I had from work for this exercise, but hope to bring in some from home and add them.

If it is Week 3, it must be Flickr. I had been before just to poke around. Interesting concept. Today I uploaded a picture from my days at EC. I gave it the tag LCLS PTL. And made it public. Then I searched for others with the same tag. I know one of my co-workers at SC has already uploaded 10 pictures. I can only find mine. When I search LCLSPTL in everyone's photos - none show up. When I search the same tag in my photos, mine is there. I searched for my co-workers photos under her name and found them. Tomorrow I will have to play around with this a little more. I did watch a slide show from one of their tags and that was fun. I kept clicking on the right arrow to go faster and a little message popped up, What's Your Hurry?

With a little help from my friends, my avatar is now in the correct proportions. What would we do without our techie friends?

This is my 2nd blog. I created one about shelling in SW Florida a couple of months ago, but I haven't posted to it very often. I plan to be more regular in my posts to this blog.
There are still some things I need to learn about blogging. I need to learn how to make my template more fun.
I have done the first week's assignment. On the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners, I feel everyone in this profession has to be a lifelong learner. Things change too rapidly not to continue learning. Mostly it is fun and exciting.
One of the hardest things for me in the 7 1/2 Habits is viewing problems as challenges. When we are helping a patron at the reference desk or on a public Internet station and the technology is not working, it is difficult to see that as a challenge rather than as an obstacle.
I probably could also use technology to my advantage more often. Sometimes it is "easier" to continue to do things the old way than to take the time to learn a new way.
I am looking forward to participating in this activity.
